Adobe AIR, General, Projects
Whew! This is the first time this year that I’m writing on this blog.
Time indeed flies when you’re having fun – (or not
– let’s save that story for another day).
A rumble in the dark
Quite a lot has been happening on the Tandolin side – especially on the development of internal projects, which you can catchup with on the Tandolin Facebook Page.
Client projects are also steadily increasing, which means less time to toy with experimental projects like Adobe AIR 2.0 with Joomla. I’m not complaining though * grins *.
A boy and his toys
Now that the dust has settled on the Adobe AIR 2 architecture, I look forward to updating my AIR projects and weaving some real magic. Especially where Joomla 1.6 and K2 are concerned.
Giving back
Speaking of clients, I’ve had a number of inquiries from them regarding a good way to display and manage job vacancies on their websites.
I took a look at what’s available on the Joomla Extensions Directory and found a number of good recruitment extensions. I still came up short though in terms of ease of use and the way they address the problem domain. Too many of them are focussed on the recruitment agency model and don’t do enough to address the recruiting organisation’s woes (but they’re very good).
This is how the latest free software project from Tandolin came about.
I’m in the final stages of completing a free joomla extension for SME company job listings which should be out in a couple of days.
Here’s a couple of screenshots below for the Admin side. You can find more front-end screenshots here on the Tandolin Facebook Page.
